A Funny Rental Van

We just came back from a short family holiday in Jasper Alberta and Hinton Alberta and we had a lot of fun. One of the funny parts of our adventure was this rental van parked at one of the Jasper landmarks. The van is from British Columbia and is rented by a company called wickedcampers.com.

I suspect the rates are very reasonable seeing as you are driving a crazy looking van with some pretty crazy graphics on it. It's also not a new van by any means but I was of course, entertained by the Ghostbusters reference on the side.

The Purple Ambulance is Gone!

I wrote a while back about a purple 'Write the Nation' ambulance that had been parked for years on 156 street in the West end of Edmonton. I actually drove by there the other day and noticed that it was gone. I have no idea if the owner sold it or sent it to the junkyard. Either way, it's outta there.

UPDATE (07/25/11): The van is back. It was only moved to accommodate road construction.

A Visit to Heritage Park

I recently did a nice little blurb about 'Fort Edmonton Park, located in Edmonton and shared a few recent pictures from a very impressed tourist-and-his-family point of view. Recently, we took a trip to Heritage Park in Calgary, which is of the same concept and truly enjoyed our visit there as well. I thought I would share a few pictures of that park also.

If you've never been to Heritage Park, make it a place to visit. There is shopping, old trains, vintage carnival rides, an old steamboat ride and lots of historical buildings to see.

P.S.: I didn't watermark these photos so feel free to use them as backgrounds or whatever.

Welcome to Fort Edmonton Park

Well, this is definitely not a 'found' item, per se. Anyone who lives in Edmonton is probably fully aware of Fort Edmonton Park nestled down in the river valley. But, for those of you who may not have known that it exists or haven't lived in Edmonton in a long time, I figured I would post a few photos I took this past weekend when the city hosted a 'Free' day for most of it's attractions.

One thing I have to say? Thank you Edmonton for giving everyone the opportunity to enjoy your cool attractions without always making a family break the bank to afford it.

Enjoy the photos.
